Lavandin Grosso: Relaxing and repellent 

 

 

Lavandin grosso is a hybrid of fine lavender and aspic lavender. 

 

We grow it with passion and wait until the end of flowering until the bees have finished collecting pollen to make lavender honey. 

 

We harvest this magnificent flower every August to extract it directly from the domain. 

 

Its scent is like the plant. He is particularly exuberant. Rather spicy on the nose, this note is due to the camphor present in its essential oil.

Distillation is particularly physical work. The fork-loading of the still and the tamping with the feet along with the hot summer months mean that the muscles are sore the next day. So I use lavandin on my arms and thighs to relax the muscles and be able to resume distillations without muscle tension.

Mixed with vegetable oil, lavandin really works against mosquitoes !!!
